Moving

The room I was moving into further south of where I live now fell through. The girl, a friend from work, decided to let her boyfriend move in. They spent three weeks trying to get the bf and I out so they could tell us, but we've been not going out to try to save money to go to
europe. When we all finally go out, they don't have the balls to tell us I can't move in. Eventually she said something to bf, he makes her call me, I panic. I have 2 weeks to find a new place to live and I have no money. I have an apartment full of furnature, a dog, fish, and a guinea pig. I'm getting my cat back from my dad in may. I can't move in with someone. After talking, bf and I decide to move in together. We look at a ton of 1 bedrooms and studios. We find some really nice ones but they're all pretty expensive. We work at the grocery store, we don't make that much money. We end up finding a beautiful house (full, 3 story+basement+yard house) with 4 bedrooms that's do-able if we get 1 roommate. A friend from home who's been living in and out of philly for a while called me up that day to tell me she needed a place to live. We work out how we can come up with the deposit and sign the lease. We move in starting on friday. I'm so excited. Its a beautiful house, the management company just finished remodeling it. Everything is new, doors, appliances, paint, bathroom. There's a big yard, in south philly terms. Its all concrete, but has built in boxes along the west wall for plants. I've already bought herb and sunflower seeds. There's a big living room and more importantly, a big kitchen. With a new full sized stove (my stove currently can't hold more than 2 pans at a time) and plenty of cabinets. And drawers. I don't have those things here. And a pantry! The only thing this house is missing is a dishwasher, but I'll get over it. The second floor has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom, the third has 2 bedrooms also. Its 1/2 block from a park, and only 1/2 block further from work. Its on a quiet side street. I can't wait. We're
moving in on the 31st, bfs 30th birthday. I feel bad, but there's nothing I can do. I have to be out of here on the 1st, I'm scheduled to work the 1st but have the 31st off. He doesn't really seem to care. My birthday is 3 days later, we're going to have a housewarming/birthday/dinner party once we're settled. We don't have enough furnature to fill this house by a long shot. I'm so excited to get out of this shithole I'm living in now. We get three times as much room, plus some outside space, and I'll be paying $40 a month less. $100 less if we get another roommate, half as much as I pay now if we fill all 4 bedrooms. I can't wait. Neither can he. I don't think we'll be going to europe in may, but we will go in sept/oct after his sister has the baby instead.
The last few nights I've cooked dinner because he's been running around doing errands and working extra shifts etc etc. I haven't cooked much lately, most of the time I bake dessert and he cooks dinner. We are a good team. But I'm still good on my own.
I made breaded pork chops two nights ago, something I hadn't made before or even eaten before but I knew existed. I'm always craving breaded things lately and I had thick cut porkchops so I made these.

2 thick-cut porkchops or 4 thin cut chops
Rice flour*
1 egg, beaten, with a squirt of hot sauce
Breadcrumbs (I make brown rice bread from the ener-g brown rice flour bread mix then let it dry in slices and put it thru the food processor, or use cornflakes in the same way, then adding salt and pepper and paprika and a tiny pinch of cayanne)
*I also added a pinch of smoked paprika to the rice flour
Oil for cooking, canola or vegetable

Put flour and breadcrumbs on plates. If using thick chops, cut them in half to make them into two skinny chops. Dredge each chop in the flour, then egg, then breadcrumb mix. Place on a plate while you heat enough oil to coat the bottom of a pan, I used a cast iron skillet. (Btw, if
you don't own one of these go get one immediately. Cooking.com sells them for $16 or something) fry each chop on one side until brown, then the other. Drain on paper towels and salt if nec. I like these served with homemade applesauce. Tonight I'm making beans.
Wish me luck on my move!
